UFFRUR! ...on the road!
The Württemberg State Museum's mobile theater spectacle for "500 Years of the Peasants' War"
From May to October 2025, the history of the Peasants' War will come to life. Supported by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Baden-Württemberg, the mobile theater roadshow "UFFRUR! ... on the road" brings the events of 1524/25 to 16 locations in southwest Germany. With powerful visual, performative and multimedia elements, history is made tangible.
The theater spectacle allows the audience to immerse themselves in the lives of the protagonists of that time. Led by a jester as master of ceremonies, the various conflicts between peasants and nobility, the Reformation and early capitalism unfold with relish, but without losing any of their seriousness and relevance to the present. As an immersive world of experience into which the play is integrated, "UFFUR! ...on the road!" allows the audience to experience the tensions and hopes of the Peasants' War at first hand.
